“…Polymerase chain reaction assays targeting individual pathogens of the PRRC have been established and employed to study the presence, abundance, and synergistic or antagonistic interactions of selected pathogenic species. Through end-point PCR, the study of Chatterton et al (2018) surveyed pea roots grown in Canadian fields over 4 years and confirmed the presence of the PRRC pathogens which are A. euteiches, F. avenaceum, F. oxysporum, F. redolens, and F. solani. Remarkably, A. euteiches could not be isolated from roots by means of traditional culturing methods, despite its frequent detection by PCR.…”
