Onion crackers are snacks categorized as crackers as complementary foods for the Indonesian people. Crackers are snacks that have a thin, round, and light shape. The process of packaging crackers is partially and fully manually done by humans. Packaging is representative of product quality. The packaging sealing process is influenced by pressure, temperature, and time. The method used in this study is to design and build a control system and test the results of the manufacture, where the control is made based on PLC with CX-Programer software which the system control integrated with HMI made with CX-Designer software. The control system is designed to drive the AC motor of the dosing system, the Dc motor of the packaging puller system, and the vertical and pneumatic heating system on the horizontal sealer system. The control system is made and tested for the function of the I / O program, and the overall control system that has been made works well.

Rubber is the largest commodity in Indonesia. Rubber is traditionally processed and dried using bamboo hangers, manual arrangement of bamboo drying rubber, heat from firewood for drying chambers and large areas. This drying process has disadvantages, namely inconsistent drying time, nonuniform room temperature, unequal product quality, and unfriendly drying process. The solution is to overcome the automatic rubber dryer machine that is made using PLC to get the motor operating system for automatic rubber handling in the drying chamber, fixed drying temperature, small drying area, and fast-drying time. The experimental method is used for the automatic rubber drying process with PLC to control the movement of rubber in/out of the chamber dryer, heater, and blower for distribution temperature and other components. From the test results, it is found that the control system can work well at the voltage of each component of 220V, such as a sensor with a current of 0.21A and a stop time of 0.01s-0.3 seconds. The motor, heater, and blower are active (ON) at 220V with a current of 8.27A. The heater requires a current of 1.99A for active (ON) and an active blower (ON) with a current of 0.75A.

Simulation of Boiler Feed Pump Using Controller Program: A Case Study of Sapele Power Boiler Feed Pump

The goal of this work is to automate the Sapele Power Plant Boiler Feed Pumps (BFPs) using CODESYS software to simulate BFP controlled by a proposed PLC system that was manually controlled. The boiler pressure, level, feed stream flow, and primary heat transport (PHT) pressure BFP were restored to their optimal levels within a few seconds after trip. This was possible for the standby program used for automation within 14 seconds when compared to the manual process that was in place. During the simulation, the BFP goes into standby mode after 14 seconds. The results obtained under automated condition shows the boiler pressure rises to 40.3 kg/cm-1s-2 and remained stable for 147 seconds as against 55.9 kg/cm-1s-2 in 25 seconds under unautomated conditions. The flow rate of the feed water shows a decrease of -0.172 m at 50 seconds. The boiler pressure rose further to 44 kg/cm-1s-2 at 175 seconds, which corresponds to a specific gravity value of 59.5 kg/cm3 at the same time. At 146 seconds, the feed water hits the trip setting of -2.85m owed to low specific gravity (SG) level when compared to the unautomated condition. Thus, a further increase reached fluctuation level of -10m at 200 seconds. The PHT was 88.5 kg/cm-1s-2 at 146 seconds contrary to the expected pressure of 105.6 kg/cm-1s-2 for unautomated state. This change after 146 seconds results from generator trip. The pressure increases to 90.2 kg/cm3 at approximately 148 seconds and subsequently decreases to 48 kg/cm3 consequently opening of the condenser steam discharge valve (CSDVs) and atmospheric steam discharge valve (ASDVs) during the simulation state.
