Ruang baterai cenderung bersuhu tinggi akibat proses overcharging dan overdraining ketika sistem beroperasi normal maupun gangguan. Suhu tinggi di ruang baterai dapat mengurangi masa pakai baterai dan akan merugikan dari sisi ekonomi. Dalam kondisi terburuk, suhu tinggi akibat akumulasi kimia baterai dapat menyebabkan ledakan sehingga lebih banyak aspek yang dirugikan. Maka dari itu perlu dibuatkan sistem pendinginan otomatis untuk menjaga suhu ruang baterai tetap optimal. Pada artikel ini, peneliti membuat sistem kontrol motor berbasis PLC-VSD dalam mengendalikan suhu prototype ruang baterai dengan heater sebagai sumber panas dan sensor suhu thermocouple tipe k. SCADA digunakan untuk akuisisi data dan memonitor proses pendinginan ruang baterai. Hasil pengujian menunjukan range persentase kesalahan pengukuran antara komponen (PLC, HMI, SCADA) dengan alat ukur yaitu: arus 5,8 - 9%, tegangan 4 - 5,3%, dan kecepatan motor 0,2 - 0,5%, respond time didapatkan range 131 – 177 ms atau 0,1 detik serta error rate keseluruhan sistem adalah 0%. Kontrol suhu otomatis belum bisa mencapai set point yaitu 28.5°C karena hanya mengandalkan blower. Suhu terendah yang bisa dicapai adalah 30,4⁰C, nilai ini menunjukan bahwa sistem dapat menurunkan suhu ruang baterai sesuai dengan suhu yang diperbolehkan untuk baterai beroperasi.

Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are increasingly being used to realize modern safety-critical instrumentation and control (IC) applications. Examples of these applications are industrial automation and control systems, plant process safety protection systems, smart home systems and digital IC systems embedded in nuclear power plants (NPPs) that require high levels of performance, reliability, and flexibility. The PLC is a flexible, programmable, and robust digital device that can execute all logical and mathematical runtime functions of the IC application and operate in harsh-critical environments. This paper proposes a PLC-based home security controller based on the ladder logic programming model. The design, analysis, and hardware implementation of this controller are presented in this paper. The designed system consists of three basic modules which are a sensing module used for reading the data of the input field devices for the smart home application, a computation-based decisional module used for executing the programming model, and an actuating module used for sending the control commands to the output field devices. The proposed home security system utilized different types of sensors such as a laser photoelectric sensor, a motion or proximity sensor, and a limit switch. In addition, a siren speaker, a light tower including three lights red, yellow, and green, two push-pull switches and emergency push-pull buttons were used as control inputs and output indicators in the implementation of this work This designed system is implemented on the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC controller and Human Machine Interface (HMI) panel programmed as the graphical user interface. The experimental simulation results of the real hardware connection demonstrate that the proposed system is reliable, safe, and feasible for smart home security applications.

The implementation of the use of PLC in this study was designed for a small scale in the process of stirring coffee drinks at a speed of 600 RPM. To get a stable speed so that the water does not overflow, a control system is needed. To get optimal results, a system design that can control the stirring speed is arranged automatically using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This system is designed using a rotary encoder sensor C38S6G5-600B-G24N as a speed reader obtained from the movement of the motor, DC Motor JGA25-370 12V as an actuator or stirrer. PLC OMRON CP1E-NA20DR-A is used as a motor speed control device using the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) algorithm to control the system according to the setpoint entered. The motor speed control system with the PID algorithm shows a system response that works well according to the researchers' expectations. The response of the system obtained is fast enough to achieve a stable speed with a small overshoot value. Thus this system was successfully designed to control the stirring process of coffee drinks automatically and produce stable stirring by giving a set point of 600 RPM at the parameter constant Proportional band is 720%; Integral time is 1.6s; and Derivative time is 0.2s with a rise time value is 1.3s; settling time is 11s; overshoot is 1.1%; and steady-state error is 0.5%.
