West Sulawesi is the province with the lowest unemployment rate in Indonesia. Majene is a regency in West Sulawesi with increasing economic growth. This research aims to analyze the typology and leading sectors in Majene regency. This research uses the LQ, Shift Share, and Klassen Typology analysis methods. The data used is secondary data in the form of GRDP of Majene regency and West Sulawesi province for 2018-2022 which is sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analysis is carried out by determining the base sector, then determining the progressive sector, and finally formulating a sector typology using the Klassen Typology. The research results show that those included in the leading sectors are the mining sector, electricity and gas procurement, transportation, accommodation provision, information, financial services, real estate, government administration, educational services and other services. This sector has the potential to be developed. It is hoped that the results of this research can become the basis for an economic development strategy by looking at the potential of each sector typology

The COVID-19 pandemic is causing significant global changes, and one of the most affected sectors is the tourism industry. Therefore, this study aimed at determining the impacts of the pandemic on tourism by comparing the spatial economic classification before and during the pandemic using four analyses, namely the regional Klassen Typology, sector approach, the Location Quotient (LQ), and Shift-Share Analysis. The processed information is secondary data from the Central Statistical Agency of Karo Regency and North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This area is one of the mainstay areas of the national economy and part of the Lake Toba Super Priority Destination. The obtained results showed that the tourism sector was classified among the fast-growing and uncompetitive sectors before the pandemic. However, during the crisis, it became a slow-growing and competitive sector.

This study aims to analyze and map local superior commodities (LSC) in Jepara Regency using Shift Share Analysis, Growth Ratio Model Analysis (MRP), Location Quotient (LQ) Analysis, Overlay Analysis, and Klassen Typology Analysis. The analysis was carried out using the GRDP data for Jepara Regency and for Central Java Province. The research was conducted on five business sectors including the creative industry sector, the food processing sector, the food crop & plantation product processing sector, the fishery product processing sector and the agricultural product processing sector. The results of the identification of superior commodities in Jepara Regency show that the manufacturing sector has strong competitiveness or has a highly competitive advantage. It implies that local governments need to pay attention to business sectors that are experiencing a decline and relatively underdeveloped, improve managerial capabilities for business actors, especially in the manufacturing industry sector, and increase market access offline and online (omni), as well as develop innovation hubs.
