Impacts of heater-cooler position and Lorentz force on heat transfer and entropy generation of hybrid nanofluid convection in quarter-circular cavity

Abstract: Purpose The study aims to assess the heater and cooler positional impacts systematically using four different quadrantal cavities filled with hybrid nanofluid, keeping the curved surface adiabatic under the orientated magnetic fields. Both heat transfer and entropy generation analyses are performed for a hybrid nanofluid flow in a quarter circular cavity considering different orientations of magnetic fields. The investigation is focused to assess the heater and cooler positional impacts systematically using fo… Show more

“…In addition, the impact of Joule heating and the Hall effect is minor, with negligible influence from radiation and viscous dissipation effects (Dogonchi et al , 2021; Saha et al , 2022; Mandal et al , 2022a). Considering these factors, the nondimensionalized form of the governing equations is expressed as per the work of Manna et al (2023b) and Abu-Hamdeh et al (2021): …”

“…The formation of a single circulation vortex is ultimately governed by the sidewall, regardless of whether the overall flow velocity has increased. This indicates that the production of thermal entropy is the fundamental driver of thermodynamic irreversibility [ 76 ]. Both the heater and cooler might have been positioned in either the second or third quadrant to provide the best possible heat transmission.…”

“…A numerical investigation of the MHD effect linked with a fluid–structure interaction model was carried out in the context of a nanofluid-filled lid-driven cavity problem [ 76 ]. This was carried out for the case of volumetric internal heat generation, and it covered a wide range of flow parameters.…”

“…The stabilizing impacts of exerted magnetic field were also deliberated in Zaydan et al (2020) on the Buongiorno’s nanofluid model convection. More results of Lorentz force on fluid flow phenomena can be referred to the recent works (Shehzad et al , 2021; Chinnasamy et al , 2021; Dutta et al , 2022; Manna et al , 2023).…”
