Impact of prediabetes on poststroke depression in Chinese patients with acute ischemic stroke

Abstract: Our study showed that prediabetes was associated with PSD and may predict its development at 1 month poststroke. In prediabetes subgroups, patients with HbA1c 5.7% to 6.4% were more likely to develop PSD compared to NGT and IFG/IGT groups.

“…In this study, we developed and validated a 3-month major PSD nomogram to identify those who are at high risk for 3-month major PSD based on effective predictors, which can be used to optimize patient care and follow-up in clinical practice. Although some sociodemographic, clinical factors and biomarkers have been found to be associated with PSD in previous studies, 16,[25][26][27][28] it is difficult to achieve an ideal precise prediction using a single indicator unless the combination of several effective predictors was applied, such as a nomogram. The nomogram showed good discrimination (C-statistic=0.81, 95% CI, 0.791-0.829) and calibration through internal validation, which could prevent overfitting.…”

“…For acupuncture of strain site, neck and shoulder include Yanglao, Jian Jing, Dazhui, neck and back include Tianzong, Xuanzhong, anterior part of chest includes Neiguan through Wai kuan, lateral thorax part includes Taichong, center of the waist includes Renzhong, both sides include Yanglao, lateral thigh includes Zusanli, Yanglingquan, posterior leg includes Feiyang. For a large area of strain, add 4-6 needles at upper and lower, left and right edge of the pain zone [4] .
