This research aimed to show the economic importance of the main natural resources exploited in Peru. The research was descriptive, likewise it was carried out through a systematic and detailed search of the bibliographic information obtained from various reliable and understandable sources, which allowed analyzing the data on exports, employment and gross domestic product generated by the exploitation of these resources. in the country, to determine the sector with the greatest benefits and influence in the economy. From the investigation it was obtained that in 2021 the use of these natural resources generated a contribution of 673 thousand formal jobs in the agricultural, fishing, hydrocarbon and mining sectors, in addition to the contribution to the primary Gross Domestic Product (GDP)given by the mining industry. it was 52.9% of the total, in hydrocarbons it was 6.3%, in agriculture it was 23.8% and in fishing it was 1.9%. Concluding that of the activities mentioned above, the ones that stand out the most are mining, as well as the agricultural sector, this is due to the fact that they favor the economy and continuous growth of the country in an outstanding way.

This study aims to demonstrate the impact of renewable energy consumption (REC) on environmental degradation using the EKC hypothesis testing for the BRIC and G-7 countries. Two EKC models were created and tested, with Model 2 including REC and other independent variables such as economic freedom (EF) and economic policy uncertainty (EPU), which affect the level of renewable energy consumption and CO 2 emissions. Empirical findings indicate that the EKC hypothesis is verified faster in the REC-EF-EPU-based EKC model (Model 2) than in the EF-EPU-based EKC model (Model 1) for G-7 countries since the turning point takes place earlier in Model 2 than in Model 1 with REC. This suggests that renewable energy consumption accelerates the reduction of CO 2 emissions. Moreover, this earlier turning point results in lower environmental cleaning costs, less time vesting, and saving resources and money for G-7 countries. However, the study found no evidence supporting the EKC hypothesis for the BRIC countries.

Purpose The reduction of income inequality and the ways to fight against it are source of debate among scientific communities and policymakers. Rents from natural resources that African countries are endowed with remain one way to cope with income inequality, but its influence on income inequality is mixed. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to explore the direct and indirect transmission mechanisms through which natural resources rents can affect income inequality in sub-Saharan Africa. Design/methodology/approach This study obtained data on income inequality from the Standardised World Income Inequality Data database, natural resources rents from World Bank’s Development Indicators and education from United Nations Development Programme for the period 1990–2018. It was analysed using system generalised method of moments. Findings The results of this study showed that natural resources rents solely increased income inequality, but its interaction with education significantly reduced income inequality. Research limitations/implications These findings suggest that the reduction of income inequality by natural resources rents passes through a good education system in sub-Saharan African countries. Originality/value In previous studies, authors analysed the role of education in the relationship between natural resources rents and income inequality by inserting the two variables separately in the model. But in this paper, the author analysed the role of education in the relationship between natural resources rents and income inequality by using the interaction of natural resources rents and education.
