“…The results confirmed that high doses of CuSO4 impaired the survival of stingless bees, as has been previously reported for adult bees (Rodrigues et al 2016;Botina et al 2019;Bernardes et al 2022b).…”

“…The effects of acute exposure to CuSO4 were previously assessed in adult P. helleri, where lethality was proportional to the dose, and respiration rate (Botina et al 2019), walking, and feeding behaviors (Rodrigues et al 2016;Bernardes et al 2022b) were altered. The current study provides the first evidence of the sublethal effects of chronic exposure of CuSO4 to larvae.…”

“…Figure 1 and Figure 2 show that the areas with high Cu content are mainly distributed near the mining and planting area, and the point concentration near the mining area is higher than that of the farmland. Studies have shown that a large amount of CuSO 4 is used as an insecticide for fruit trees in pesticide production [ 62 , 63 ]. Through the field survey, it can be seen that pears, peaches, apricots and other fruit trees are planted in the study area.…”
