Impact of body mass index on markers of vascular health in normotensive women with history of pre‐eclampsia

Abstract: What are the novel findings of this work? Body mass index (BMI) and a history of pre-eclampsia have an independent effect on vascular health. The effects of pre-eclampsia and BMI on insulin resistance appear to be synergistic. Independently of BMI, a history of pre-eclampsia has a detrimental impact on carotid intima-media thickness, carotid distensibility and blood pressure.
