Immunoturbidimetric assays of apolipoproteins A, AI, AII, and B in serum.

Abstract: In these immunoturbidimetric assays developed for apolipoproteins A, AI, AII, and B we used the Cobas-Bio centrifugal analyzer and commercially available antisera and calibrators. Within-day and within-run precision ranged from 1.0 to 5.8% for the four assays. The addition of bilirubin, up to 150 mg/L, or hemoglobin, 50 g/L, to sera did not interfere with the measurement of these apolipoproteins. Comparison of results of the immunoturbidimetric assays with those of radial immunodiffusion assays yielded slopes … Show more

“…Triglycerides were measured enzymatically with correction for endogenous glycerol [25] using a Hitachi 917 analyzer and reagents and calibrators from Roche Diagnostics. Levels of apolipoproteins B 100 and A-I were measured by an immunoturbidometric technique on the Hitachi 911 analyzer [26].…”

“…The concentration of LDL-C was calculated by the Friedewald O 2 .− formula [27]. ApoA-I and apolipoprotein B (apoB) were measured by immunoturbidimetry [28] using the ILab 600 analyser. All the assays were performed blindly.…”
