Abstract: SummaryAllergic diseases affect up to 30% of the western population, and their prevalence is increasing. Probiotics are able to modulate the mucosal immune response, and clinical trials demonstrated that specific strains, especially lactic acid bacteria (LAB) ones, reduce allergic symptoms.
