“…For that reason, this work investigates the functionalization of the GaNPs/graphene surface using a bifunctional reagent, DTSP. Our previous works have shown the chemical modification of GaNPs on Si substrates using this molecule . The adsorption mechanism is similar to that found in Au surfaces, where the disulfide undergoes dissociative chemisorption to give rise to the corresponding adsorbed thiolates.…”

“…Unlike GaNPs/Si sample, the surface modification of the GaNPs/graphene/SiO 2 /Si sample produces a significant variation of the dip energy in the Psi function toward larger energies. The low variation observed in the GaNPs/Si system does not mean that the chemical modification is unsuccessful since evidence of the CO vibrations has been found in FTIR analysis . However, the result proves that GaNPs/graphene systems can improve the sensitivity of the ellipsometric plasmonic sensors based on GaNPs by optimizing the chemical modification process on the base of the GaNPs where the in‐plane plasmonic resonances maximize the optical electric field.…”

“…Regarding biosensing, our group has been widely investigating the detection of different biomolecules such as glutathione 15 , Helicobacter pylori and specific gene mutation related to disease such as cystic fibrosis 16 . These works analyzed the optical properties of the Ga NPs by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) before and after the functionalization.…”
