“…Moreover, the expression of AMH in atrophic but not in mature Sertoli cells was reported previously (Giudice et al, 2014). In the light of these results, it seems to be promising to investigate further the use of AMH for diagnosis of gonadal atrophy.…”

“…Similar results were obtained with NSE, which consistently labelled SCs in MGSCTs (Patnaik and Mostofi, 1993;Owston and RamosVara, 2007). CK, DES, INH-a and AMH, all reported as markers of immature SCs Banco et al, 2012), were not expressed in normal testes (Giudice et al, 2014). In contrast, these markers were expressed diffusely by neoplastic SCs within MGSCTs, consistent with neoplastic SCs in canine Sertoli cell tumours (SCTs) .…”

“…Further sections (5 mm) were stained with PAS or subjected to immunohistochemistry (IHC) using the ABC method (Giudice et al, 2014). A panel of eight primary antibodies was applied including reagents specific for VIM (3B4, 1 in 1,000 dilution), INH-a (R1, 1 in 40 dilution), CK (AE1/AE3, 1 in 2,000 dilution), DES (NCL-L-DES-DERII, 1 in 300 dilution), AMH (C-20, 1 in 30,000 dilution), PLAP (8A9, 1 in 25 dilution), KIT (CD117, 1 in 500 dilution) and NSE (1 in 25 dilution).…”

“…AMH concentration did not differ significantly between control dogs and dogs with testicular tumours other than SCT or with NNP, but about half of dogs with these testicular changes had serum concentrations in the interval between 10 and 22 pg/mL. An increased expression of markers of immaturity in Sertoli cells, including AMH, has recently been described in cases of canine testicular atrophy [ 30 ]. Such changes may contribute to slightly elevated concentrations of AMH in some dogs with testicular pathologies other than SCT.…”
