“…ILs based on the imidazolium cation are the most widely investigated among those available, and a variety of functional groups have been attached to the imidazolium cation to modify their physical and chemical properties . For traditional imidazolium ILs, it have been demonstrated that the unique excitation wavelength-dependent fluorescence behaviors originate from the heterogeneity of the ILs molecular structure. As we know, the unusual fluorescence phenomena of ILs are very similar to those showed by various dipolar solutes in viscous media on excitation at the red-edge of the absorption band, which is commonly defined as the red-edge effect (REE) . From our previous studies, different from most imidazolium ILs with low fluorescence efficiency, symmetrical hydrophilic ionic liquids, for example, 1,3-butylimidazolium chloride, display high fluorescence efficiency. Encouraged by these advantages, Brønsted acidic ILs were selected to be introduced into the Ln-MOCs for luminescence ratiometric thermometers.…”

“…Therefore, ILs are considered to be an attractive substitute of conventional volatile organic solvents. As a kind of green solvents, ILs have also been used in analytical chemistry including separation field, chromatography, and spectrometry over the past few years . There are large number of natural compounds, such as alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids, that are extracted and purified using ILs as solvent .…”
