“…While several empirical papers examined the effects of global health issues on travel intentions (Nazneen et al , 2020; Wen et al , 2020), their results describe the impact of the pandemic on attitudes toward different types of travel without specifying the nature and relative importance of various factors affecting tourists’ perceptions. Gunn (1988) identifies seven stages of TDI formation, covering the whole process of visiting destination and TDI has dynamic nature (Bongkoo et al , 2013; Stylidis and Cherifi, 2018; Stylidis, 2019).…”

“…As decision-making with regard to medical tourism is indeed a very complex process, the essentiality of how valued attributes of medical tourism translate into intentions to engage in actual behaviours is vibrant (Junio et al , 2017; Connell, 2013). Although the medical tourism industry players are actively using aggressive marketing strategies with vigorous support from the government; nonetheless, the market cannot be achieved through publicity or competitive tools alone (Collins et al , 2019; Dryglas and Lubowiecki-Vikuk, 2019). When the potential medical tourists are not keen or willing to take part in medical tourism, perhaps these efforts are less constructive, and thus they are recommended to consider applying theoretical based study in supporting the observed intervention effect.…”
