“…Unfortunately, this course has not been adopted, and the survey (54,55,56) has been carried out without elimination of discrepancies between the results of the collaborating laboratories. As shown in the second part of the survey report (55), replication between laboratories was poor, and this makes it difficult to interpret the results for 1627 herd milks (mean A: 0-543° C.) which, taken at their face value, imply that there are marked regional differences throughout the U.S.A. Whether these differences are of sufficient magnitude to consider regional standards of interpretation, as has been suggested, can hardly be decided before more precise results come to hand.…”
