Identifying Small Molecule-miRNA Associations Based on Credible Negative Sample Selection and Random Walk

Abstract: Recently, many studies have demonstrated that microRNAs (miRNAs) are new small molecule drug targets. Identifying small molecule-miRNA associations (SMiRs) plays an important role in finding new clues for various human disease therapy. Wet experiments can discover credible SMiR associations; however, this is a costly and time-consuming process. Computational models have therefore been developed to uncover possible SMiR associations. In this study, we designed a new SMiR association prediction model, RWNS. RWNS… Show more

“…In terms of clinical application, the net benefit of patients using nomogram is better than that of SAPS II ( Figure 6 ), and the nomogram shows good performance in predicting hospital mortality of SAE patients. For the evaluation of nomograms, in addition to the above-mentioned AUC value and other methods, some new methods may be needed to evaluate in the future ( Zhou et al, 2019 ; Liu F. et al, 2020 ).…”

“…A novel nano-compounds encapsulating wild-type p53 (SGT-53) could enhance the inhibitory effects of TMZ on TMZ-resistant GBM cells ( Kim et al, 2015 ). Moreover, mutations/deregulation in the platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha ( PDGFRα ), telomerase reverse transcriptase ( TERT ), epidermal growth factor receptor ( EGFR ), c-Myc, phosphatase and tensin homolog ( PTEN ), serine/threonine-protein kinase ( BRAF ) are frequently observed in glioma, which have become attractive markers for targeted therapy [ Mukasa et al, 2010 ; Sampson et al, 2010; Killela et al, 2013 ; Johnson et al, 2014 ; Liu et al, 2020a ; Liu et al, 2020b )].…”

“…However, even in the same cancer type, substantial variability has been observed indifferent patients (4,8,9). Mutational analysis of ctDNA has already been proven to be promising in early cancer detection and cancer recurrence evaluation (10)(11)(12)(13)(14)(15).…”
