Identifying Priority Using an Importance-Performance Matrix Analysis (IPMA)

Abstract: This study used the combined Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the theoretical underpinning to examine the adoption of Internet banking. Five factors (perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control) were identified to model their impact on intention to adopt Internet banking individual bank customers in Malaysia. Survey questions from prior studies were adopted and customized to collect data. A total of 239 custo… Show more

“…This analysis is important as it extends findings from PLS-SEM analysis which offers direct, indirect and total relationships and extract the analysis to include another dimension showing the actual performance of each construct. The importance of carrying out IPMA analysis using SmartPLS has been previously recommended [ 72 , 73 ]. The results in Table 7 show the indicators’ importance-performance map which indicate that trust has the highest performance (76.62) and highest total effect (0.588).…”

“…The usefulness of IPMA has been demonstrated in several studies, such as in banking (Ramayah et al, 2014;Tailab, 2020); education (Ting et al, 2020;Wook et al, 2019); tourism (Ebrahimi et al, 2021), restaurants (Carranza et al, 2018;Fakfare, 2021) and technology (Groβ, 2018;Palos-Sanchez et al, 2018). However, its application for identifying quality attributes is yet to be fully explored.…”

“…Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) which is also called Importance-Performance Matrix Analysis (IPMA) is a method of evaluating the quality of service (Ormanovic et al, 2017). According to Ramayah & Rouibah (2016), this simple graphical tool can identify the most crucial attributes concerning their need for managerial action and define areas of improvements in developing a successful marketing programme to achieve an advantage over competitors. Hence, it is necessary to perform IPMA to avoid any ambiguity concerning managerial decisions and for marketing purposes (Deng & Pierskalla, 2018;Ramayah, Cheah, Chuah, Ting, & Ali Memon, 2016).…”
