Cet article présente donc une étude sur l'autoefficacité relative à un enseignement intégrant les TIC chez des enseignants du primaire. Plus précisément, il traite du niveau d'autoefficacité de ces enseignants et des sources d'influence de l'autoefficacité. Les résultats relatifs au niveau d'autoefficacité indiquent que la majorité des neuf enseignantes interrogées sont plutôt en accord avec le fait qu'elles sont en mesure d'intégrer les TIC dans leur enseignement et avec l'idée qu'un enseignement qui intègre les TIC apporte des retombées positives. Pour ce qui est des sources, ce sont l'expérience active de maîtrise ainsi que les états physiques et émotionnels qui semblent avoir une incidence plus marquée sur l'autoefficacité des participantes, alors que l'expérience vicariante et la persuasion verbale semblent y contribuer dans une moindre mesure. However, studies on factors influencing self-efficacy, such as those of Bursal and Yigit (2012), Kreijns et al. (2013) and Robertson and Al-Zahrani (2012), show different results. This article presents a study on self-efficacy in relation to how elementary school teachers incorporate ICT. More specifically, it examines their level of self-efficacy and sources that influence it. While there is growing recognition of the mutually shaping relationship between teaching with information technology (IT) and teachers’ beliefs, skills and self‐efficacy, there has been a paucity of research attention on the construction of teacher identity during actual IT‐assisted in‐class teaching and out‐of‐class networking with students, in a full institutional and social context. This study investigates how a group of secondary school English as a second language (ESL) teachers regulated their teaching and practices and constructed their identities in relation to governmental requirements for the use of IT in teaching. Teachers from seven government‐subsidised schools in Hong Kong were interviewed about their experiences of using IT in teaching. We frame the reported practices of these teachers as a process of construction of identity, formed in the context of the ‘governmentality’ supporting current examination‐oriented educational policy. Observing from the perspective of what has been termed ‘governmentality’ and an ethical framework for self‐formation of personal identity makes it possible to see these teachers’ professional identities constructed through the use of IT practices within the contradictory conditions of professional/personal demands, compliance/resistance, school promotion/peer non‐cooperation, advantage/disadvantage in use of IT, use of IT/content and pedagogical knowledge. This study has implications for developing a more supportive and rational environment for the use of IT in teaching, in which more autonomy and identity options—rather than constraints—can be provided for teachers in the digital era. This study also informs practitioners and policy makers in other educational settings experiencing a similar IT boom in teaching.

Studies on teachers' innovative work behavior (IWB) have identified the importance of self‐efficacy beliefs and school climate. However, there is a lack of understanding of innovation‐specific self‐efficacy beliefs in earlier research. Further, the relative importance of these variables for teachers' IWB is yet to be examined. Objectives of the present study were to (i) conceptualize and develop an instrument to assess innovative self‐efficacy (ISE) of school teachers, and (ii) examine the dynamics of relationships among ISE, perceived school climate, and IWB of teachers. The research was classified into two studies. In both studies, data were collected randomly from secondary and higher secondary teachers of private, government, and government‐aided schools in Kolkata (INDIA) and adjoining areas. Study 1 dealt with the first objective, that is, the construction of the ISE scale. Factor structure and psychometric properties of the scale were tested on 300 teachers. Exploratory factor analysis revealed two dimensions: teaching reflection and teaching design implementation. In Study 2, ISE scale, IWB Scale, and Revised School Level Environment Questionnaire were administered to 400 teachers. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed, and goodness of fit estimates was calculated for the ISE scale, indicating an acceptable fit. Further, hierarchical regression analyses noted that school climate factors (collaboration, school resources, decision‐making, and instructional innovation) moderated the relationship between teaching reflection efficacy and IWB. In the current backdrop of different educational reforms, IWB is a thrust that needs to be promoted among school teachers. The present study implies that school administration can encourage teachers' innovativeness by increasing opportunities for innovation in school. Training and intervention programs aimed at enhancing teachers' ISE levels will also increase IWB in them.
