The software organizations widely consider the cloud based global software development (CGSD) as it offer the quality projects with low cast. The adoption of CGSD is challenging due to the geographical distance between practitioners. This study aims to identify and analyses the motivators that could positively impact the implementation of CGSD paradigm. The systematic literature review approach was applied to identify the CGSD motivators reported in the literature, and were further validated with industry experts using questionnaire survey study. Moreover, the fuzzy-AHP approach was applied to prioritize the investigated motivators concerning their significance for the successful adoption of CGSD. The findings of the study provide the prioritization-based taxonomy of the investigated motivators that assists the software organizations to develop and revise their strategies for the successful implementation of CGSD.

The complexity of modern construction projects has been increasing due to the increased number of design disciplines, stakeholders, process and tools. In public project delivery, these complexities are further increased due to the existence of additional bureaucratic procedures. These decade old processes and the bureaucratic procedures left with dysfunctionalities, redundancies and non-value adding process wastes to the project outcome. This in-turn has a significant adverse knock on effect on the public project delivery in time, cost and quality outcomes. Hence, understanding the existing interactions and its complexity among the project delivery elements such as process, people and deliverables in public project delivery are paramount important to modifying the same to obtain the desired outcome based on the dynamic industry needs. In this proposed research, an example public project delivery department's existing workflow was captured using activity theory. Further, the existence of various people, process, deliverables and their interactions in the project delivery process were identified through an IDEF0 models. The identified project delivery elements and its interactions were then analyzed using a Multi Domain Mapping (MDM) method to evaluate against process dysfunctionalities, redundancies and wastes. In addition, the study also proposed an improved process flow by eliminating the above said discrepancies through a structured business process-reengineering framework. Further, the study validates the proposed framework through expert interview on the modifications made in project delivery elements. The proposed framework will be a guideline/ reference for similar business process reengineering exercise towards a public project delivery process in this region or in a similar context.

In global product development projects, coordinating complex technical communication among teams across time zones in the overlapping process is a fundamental challenge. To optimize a global product development organization to reduce the negative impact of time separation on coordination, this article presents an innovative approach to solve two key problems: how to quantify the coordination among distributed teams and how to identify efficient global product development organization. We build structural models to capture the coordination dependency strength among global product development teams from the time separation and overlapping process perspectives, employing the design structure matrix method. Then, we analyze the factors that influence synchronous and asynchronous communication due to time separation. We also apply the random walk method to identify a team similarity matrix, taking into account the direct and indirect dependency relationships among teams associated with their performed activities. Finally, we use the team similarity matrix as an input to a spectral clustering algorithm to identify the clustering strategy for the global product development organizational architecture, yielding and reinforcing several managerial insights, including how to analyze the coordination among global product development teams as well as how the offshoring costs impact the clustered organization.
