In general, landslides occur when the upward slope is higher than the retaining force which is caused by high rainfall intensity, land slope, load and impermeable layer, soil solum thickness, and soil type. The restraining force is generally controlled by the resistance of soil shear, the density and strength of plant roots and the strength of rocks. This disaster also often occurs in Indonesia, which has many mountains that stretch across the country. This research aims to determine landslide-prone areas, landslide types, dominant factors that cause landslides and landslide mitigation in anticipation of the impact of non-structural climate change. The research included 3 stages, such as pre-field, field, and post-field which are interrelated and complementary. The research location is around landslide-prone lands along the southwest slope of Mount Lawu in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. Based on the results of the research analysis, it indicates that the southwest slope of Mount Lawu, especially in Karanganyar, is highly prone to landslides. Therefore, it is not suitable to be used as agricultural and residential land because of its area of about 6,797.06 ha, and is categorized into three crucial parts, such as areas that are still highly prone to landslides of about 5,005.35 ha (73.64%); landslide-prone area of 1,784.23 ha (26.25%); and slightly landslide-prone area of 7.48 ha (0.11%).

Penanaman akar wangi adalah salah satu langkah preventif dalam penanggulangan bencana tanah longsor. Akar wangi dipilih karena tanaman ini sangat mudah tumbuh, tidak perlu biaya perawatan yang tinggi, dan memiliki tingkat kesuksesan dalam menanggulangi bencana longsor yang tinggi. Penanaman dilakukan di wilayah Kelurahan Sumur Putri, Kecamatan Teluk Betung Selatan, Kota Bandar Lampung. Lokasi penanaman diprioritaskan di wilayah lereng bukit dengan potensi bencana tanah longsor yang tinggi. Mahasiswa KKN dan masyarakat melakukan penanaman secara konvensional dengan menggunakan alat dan bahan sederhana, seperti cangkul, sekop, dan pupuk. Masyarakat juga diberi edukasi tentang manfaat dari tanaman ini dan pentingnya mitigasi bencana. Hasilnya, masyarakat mulai tertarik dengan tanaman akar wangi sebagai salah satu cara untuk mencegah bencana tanah longsor yang sering terjadi di lingkungan mereka. Dengan adanya pencegahan bencana dan penghijauan yang dilakukan di wilayah Kelurahan Sumur Putri yang memiliki kontur tanah perbukitan, dampak bencana alam dapat diminimalisasi sehingga warga dapat hidup dengan tenang tanpa dihantui rasa takut.

Bandar Lampung City has a lowland topography, which is quite diverse in valleys to ridge hills. The city’s development made the face of the city of Bandar Lampung turn into a dense residential area between the hills. Landslide is one of the disasters that often occur in Indonesia. About 15 sub-districts that are prone to landslides in Bandar Lampung, including West Telukbetung, East Telukbetung, South Telukbetung, Bumiwaras, Panjang, Kedamaian, North Telukbetung, Tanjung Karang Pusat, Enggal, Tanjung Karang Barat, Kemiling, Langkapura, Kedaton, Rajabasa and Sukabumi (BPBD, 2018). Research about landslide-prone areas with a geospatial approach aimed at disaster mitigation efforts. The study results will be necessary information about disaster mitigation to minimize loss of life and material. The geospatial approach integrates landslide threat maps with road networks and public facilities. Also, the landslide threat area’s accessibility and affordability functions can be arranged to secure the city’s priority location. The preparation of a landslide threat map begins by compiling an entire dataset in spatial data information from various sources. Whole datasets are arranged based on parameters that affect landslides. Each parameter has a different weight and is summarized in the Overlay method. It is hoped that this research can be used as a reference in disaster management and spatial planning in Bandar Lampung in the future.
