Identification of Novel Biomarkers and Candidate Drug in Ovarian Cancer

Abstract: This paper investigates the expression of the CREB1 gene in ovarian cancer (OV) by deeply excavating the gene information in the multiple databases and the mechanism thereof. In short, we found that the expression of the CREB1 gene in ovarian cancer tissue was significantly higher than that of normal ovarian tissue. Kaplan–Meier survival analysis showed that the overall survival was significantly shorter in patients with high expression of the CREB1 gene than those in patients with low expression of the CREB1 … Show more

“…Interestingly, they found significantly higher expression of the CREB1 gene in OC as compared with normal ovarian tissue. The expression profile also determined overall survival, that is, the higher the expression level of CREB1 mRNA, the shorter the overall survival [ 104 ]. Similar observations were obtained from GENT2 analysis from TCGA RNA sequencing data.…”

“…The IHC staining and scoring in this study was the same as our previously published method. We analyzed OPA3 expression on tissue array slides (CJ2, SuperBioChips Laboratories, Korea) purchased from human ovarian cancer and measured and scored immunohistochemistry (IHC) as described in a previous publication [ 20 ]. To detect protein levels, in situ hybridization was performed with OPA3 antibody (A4995, ABclonal, MA, USA).…”

“…cBioPortal ( http://cis.hku.hk/TISIDB/ ) is a comprehensive website that allows exploration, visualization and analysis of multidimensional cancer genomic data [ 11 ]. We obtained the frequency of ABCA10 gene changes, mutation types and copy number changes in all tumors in TCGA through the "Cancer Type Summary" module of cBioPortal.…”

“…To identify potential drugs capable of mimicking ABCA10 activation, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) from ABCA10 overexpressing MCF7 cells were prepared using the R-based web application GEO2R [ 11 ]. The cMAP database collects drug-induced gene expression profiles from human cancer cell lines and can be used to compare similarities and differences between the expression of the input DEGs and drug-induced genes.…”
