Identification of lncRNA and mRNA expression profiles in rat spinal cords at various time‑points following cardiac ischemia/reperfusion

Abstract: The identification of the expression patterns of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and mRNAs in the spinal cord under normal and cardiac ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) conditions is essential for understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of cardiac I/R injury. The present study used high-throughput RNA sequencing to investigate differential gene and lncRNA expression patterns in the spinal cords of rats during I/R-induced cardiac injury. Male Sprague Dawley rats were assigned to the following g… Show more

“…The results suggested that the differentially expressed lncRNAs were accumulated in PMOP-associated signaling pathways, including osteoclast differentiation, as well as TNF and MAPK signaling pathways. Aberrant gene expression profiles have been observed in various diseases, suggesting their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets (15)(16)(17). The gene expression profiles in osteoporosis remain poorly investigated.…”

“…Myocardial IR surgeries were performed as previously described [ 9 , 24 , 25 ]. Briefly, prior to surgery, each rat was deeply anaesthetized and given atropine (0.25-0.3 ml of a 50 mg/ml solution intraperitoneally) to reduce salivation.…”

“…response to internal and external cues [6,7]. Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) is known to be associated with comorbid nociceptive disorders and increased mortality risk [8][9][10][11][12]. The mechanisms through which MIRI is linked to these negative outcomes remains unclear, in part due to limited knowledge of the pathophysiology of MIRI itself.…”

“…The author's previous study showed that transcriptomics and metabolomics enable the examination of spinal biological systems in unprecedented detail (32)(33)(34)(35)(36). More recently, different patterns were revealed in the metabolic and transcriptional levels of the thoracic spinal cord under myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (37)(38)(39). Variations in metabolomics and transcriptomics are closely related to proteomics.…”
