Identification of Key Factors Associated with Early- and Late-Onset Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma

Abstract: Aim: To uncover the molecular mechanisms of early-onset ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (EOOSC; patients <50 years old) and late-onset ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (LOOSC; patients ≥50 years old). Materials & methods: Bioinformatics was utilized to identify the key factors. Results: 478 EOOSC and 899 LOOSC individual differentially expressed genes were identified and enriched in different pathways. The expression of key genes LAG3, LRRC63 and MT1B significantly influenced the overall survival of … Show more

“…CT45A1 shows significant over representation in breast cancer, and it has been demonstrated as a target for the development of new therapeutics [47], [48]. CT45A3 have a role in a specific ovarian cancer phenotype and is considered a prognostic factor [49]. CT45A2 is highly expressed in lung cancer and plays a protective role against this disease [50].…”

“…LAG-3 expression was downregulated in the subgroup of EOOSC patients. In addition, high LAG-3 expression was associated with longer overall survival [ 92 ].…”

“… 13 Ma et al revealed that the expression of key genes varies between young patients (under 50 years old) and old patients (over 50 years old) those who diagnosed with ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma. 14 One fly in the ointment is that the study did not testify to the sufficient reason that why 50 years old was chosen as the age threshold for AOSC.…”
