Abstract:Biomarkers are molecular markers found in clinical samples which may aid disease diagnosis or prognosis. High-throughput techniques allow prospecting for such signature molecules by comparing gene expression between normal and sick cells. Cancer-testis antigens (CTAs) are promising candidates for cancer biomarkers due to their limited expression to the testis in normal conditions versus their aberrant expression in various tumors. CTAs are routinely identified by transcriptomics, but a comprehensive characteri… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
