Identification of effective criteria to improve lighting quality in existing art museums

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify effective lighting criteria in the museum from two theoretical and practical points of view. Design/methodology/approach Assessment of theoretical and practical weight of criteria was taken with the aim of concurrent attention in scientific and executive. Finally, ten effective criteria were identified by the Pareto chart. Findings The findings of this study represents a centralized reference source of the most important criteria and also effective guidance … Show more

“…The artificial illuminance transfer matrix and natural illuminance distribution are obtained by professional lighting simulation software. The findings demonstrate that this method can quickly and precisely identify the ideal set of dimming coefficients, maximizing energy savings while maintaining comfort levels 12 . He et al studied the role of PLC controllers in stage lighting control.…”

“…Panahiazar and Matkan (2018) conducted a qualitative and quantitative analysis of natural light in the San-Lorenzo church dome. In addition, several studies have proposed methods for simulating the brightness and glare of light in a virtual environment (Hassanizadeh et al, 2020;Inanici & Mehlika, 2003;Mangkuto et al, 2014).…”

“…The most important one is that the lighting system should be able to guarantee excellent visual performance, but at the same time, it should reduce exposure to the exhibition (Pedro et al , 2013). Several studies focused on the significant factors in optimizing lighting and energy conservation systems and focusing on economic analysis to improve lighting system performance (Golabchi et al , 2016; Hassanizadeh et al , 2020; Salata et al , 2015; Jalali et al , 2019; Gharouni Jafari et al , 2020; Abbasi et al , 2020; Yang and Nam, 2010; Salata et al , 2015). Table 1 compares several studies investigated with the highest relevance to the present study.…”
