Identification of Ecological Risk Zoning on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from the Perspective of Ecosystem Service Supply and Demand

Abstract: With the interaction of global change and human activities, the contradistinction between supply and demand of ecosystem services in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is becoming increasingly tense, which will have a profound impact on the ecological security of China and even Asia. Based on land cover data on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in 1990, 2005, and 2015, this paper estimated the supply capacity of ecosystem services using the value equivalent method, calculated the demand for ecosystem services using population … Show more

“…Moreover, to a certain extent, it also determines the water yield capacity and water conservation capacity of the region [52]. In order to explore the influencing factors of the spatial distribution pattern and spatiotemporal variation characteristics of the water yield capacity on the Tibetan Plateau, this paper explores the differences in the spatial distribution patterns of the water yield from the perspective of different terrain types, climate types, and ecological types, selecting four factors with an important influence on P, AET, NDVI, and LAI, exploring the effects and influence laws of climate change and vegetation change on the spatiotemporal variation characteristics of the water yield under different climate types and ecological types [53][54][55] Figure 6 shows that the water yield in the eastern part of the Tibetan Plateau is significantly higher. The altitude of this area is low; it belongs to the Sanjiangyuan Area and the valley of the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra River and other rivers, and there are many local plains along the valleys.…”

“…The partition management of EFZUYR is of great significance for improving the ecological environment of the research area and promoting a virtuous cycle of the ecosystem. Conducting partitioning based on the different ecological environments means proposing a more targeted ecological environment management plan and future development plan [ 35 , 36 ], which is a suitable solution. The following suggestions are made for different ecological risk areas: (1) ecological restoration should be emphasized in areas with the highest, higher, and medium risks, such as Linxia City, Linxia County, Hezuo City and others with higher economic development levels.…”

“…), is called the “Roof of the World” or the “Third-Pole on Earth” ( Chen et al., 2020 ). The area is approximately 2.5 million km 2 , accounting for a fourth of China’s total territorial land ( Dong et al, 2020 ; Shi et al., 2021 ). Owing to its characteristics of high terrain and low oxygen, the unique biological resources of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau play a vital role in global biodiversity ( Tao et al., 2020 ).…”
