“…Fast neutron (FN) mutagenesis-based forward genetic screens have been successful at identifying the genetic basis of valuable phenotypes in soybean [33][34][35][36]. Advances in the use of whole genome sequencing and comparative genome hybridization (CGH) techniques for mapping the deletions in mutant populations [37][38][39] also provide a means to identify novel mutations in genomic studies [40,41] that can have applications in plant breeding programs for improved agronomic traits. Studying the role of altered C and N partitioning as a function of development may provide clues to overcome the inverse correlation between oil and protein and to develop soybean lines with improved seed composition.…”
