Abstract. Pranoto, Rosariastuti R, Prihandoko A. 2018. Short Communication: The utilization and effectiveness test of andisol soil-bioball-Agrobacterium sp. toward heavy metal chrome removal. Biodiversitas 19: 1955-1959. This study was aimed to determine chrome metal adsorption and bioremediation ability using andisol soil, bioball, and Agrobacterium sp. The andisol soil characterization was performed by Fourier Transform Infrared Analyzer (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Surface Area Analyzer (SAA) while the cell quantity of Agrobacterium sp. was calculated by hemocytometer method. Determination of adsorption and bioremediation effectiveness was done using several parameters such as effect of pH solution, ratio variation of andisol soil-bio ball-Agrobacterium sp, and contact time. The pH variation was ranged from 1-6, while the composition variation of andisol-bioball-Agrobacterium sp. were 2: 0: 0, 1, 5: 1: 5, 1: 2: 10, 0, 5: 3: 15, and 0: 4: 20 (gr: item: mL), and contact time of 30,60,90,120, and 150 minutes. The result of this research shows that the optimum adsorption and bioremediation of Cr metal at pH 5, while the optimum ratio of andisol soil-bioball-Agrobacterium sp was 1, 5: 1: 5 (gr: item: mL), with the contact time for 120 minutes with Cr decrease percentage of 71.3%. The adsorption isotherm followed Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm.

Abstrak. Setyawan AD, Sugiyarto, Susilowati A, Widodo. 2015. Keanekaragaman jenis dan sebaran Selaginella di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 987-992. Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta memiliki topografi yang cukup beragam dengan ketinggian mulai dari tepian pantai hingga puncak Gunung Merapi (2930 m dpl). Sebagian besar wilayah Yogyakarta didominasi oleh kawasan perbukitan atau pegunungan yang relatif kering, yaitu: Pegunungan Kars Sewu, Pegunungan Menoreh dan Gunung Merapi. Daerah bertopografi datar ditemukan di antara ketiga pegunungan tersebut. Selaginella merupakan jenis tumbuhan herba yang memerlukan banyak air untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangbiakan. Sehingga, keberadaan Selaginella di kawasan yang relatif kering ini menarik untuk diteliti. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan sembilan spesies Selaginella. S. ornata ditemukan pada dataran menengah hingga tinggi. S. opaca dan S. remotifolia hanya ditemukan di dataran tinggi pada lereng Gunung Merapi, demikian pula S. singalanensis. S. plana ditemukan di dataran rendah hingga ketinggian 1200 m dpl, di Gunung Merapi, batas tertinggi pertumbuhan jenis ini di Pulau Jawa. S. aristata dan S. ciliaris tumbuh di dataran rendah hingga menengah, seperti Pegunungan Menoreh, namun umumnya hanya dijumpai di musim hujan. S. repanda banyak dijumpai di kawasan karst Pegunungan Sewu, terutama pada celah-celah bebatuan yang lembab. Special Region of Yogyakarta has fairly diverse topography with altitude starting from the seashore to the peak of Mount Merapi (2930 m asl.). Most of the area of Yogyakarta is dominated by hills or mountainous regions that is relatively dry, such as Sewu Karst, Menoreh and Merapi mountains. The flat topographic area being observed is between the three mountains. Selaginella is a herbaceous plant species that requires a lot of water for growth and fertilization. Therefore, the existence of Selaginella in a relatively dry region is an interesting matter of study. In this study, nine species of Selaginella were found in Yogyakarta. S. ornata was found at medium to high plain land. S. opaca and S. remotifolia were found only in highlands on the slopes of Mount Merapi as well as S. singalanensis. S. plana was found from the lowland up to an altitude of 1200 m of Mount Merapi, the highest growing limit of this species in the island of Java. S. aristata and S. ciliaris grew ranging from the lowland to medium altitudes, such as Menoreh mountain. However, it was generally grown only in the rainy season. The Eurasian and Mediterranean Selaginella helvetica group is one of the taxonomically challenging groups in the cosmopolitan lycophyte genus Selaginella. Species of the S. helvetica group are all small plants with lax strobili composed of more or less isomorphic sporophylls (isosporophylls) that are basically non-resupinate. Owing to the similar and minute morphological characteristics, the inapplicability of chloroplast DNA markers for species delimitation and the lack of range-wide sampling, no comprehensive study has been conducted on these species so far. In this study, we performed phylogenetic analyses based on populationscale sampling of 126 individuals, covering the entire geographical distribution and morphological variation of this group. Five chloroplast (rbcL, psbA, atpI, atpF, atpF-H) and two nuclear DNA regions (26S rDNA, pgiC) were used to explore species diversity of this group. The phylogeny inferred from nuclear DNA datasets revealed nine well-supported monophyletic groups, which provided important evidence for species delimitation and called for taxonomic revision of some taxa. However, in the chloroplast phylogeny, individuals of only three species (S. denticulata, S. helvetica, S. tamamontana) formed monophyletic groups, respectively. We further investigated genome size for each species by flow cytometry and evaluated 21 morphological characteristics of 79 herbarium specimens. MaxEnt analysis was performed to predict the potential suitable distribution of each species. As a result of total evidence, 10 taxa were recognized in the S. helvetica group. The delimitation of S. denticulata, S. laxistrobila, S. nipponica, S. pallidissima, S. prostrata, and S. tamamontana was congruent with previous taxonomical treatments. We reinstated S. shensiensis as an independent species and treated S. longistrobilina as its synonym. Selaginella helvetica (s.str.) is confined to Europe and North Asia, former records of it from the Himalaya-Hengduan mountains represent an independent species (S. jiulongensis comb. nov.). The nuclear pgiC phylogeny and flow cytometry evidence indicated that S. pseudonipponica is an allotetraploid with S. shensiensis and S. nipponica as its parents. Our results highlight that nuclear DNA markers rather than chloroplast DNA markers are more informative in delimitation of closely related species in Selaginella.
