Abstract

Estrogen, a steroid hormone, is a key regulator of the cellular process, involved in the maintenance of female reproductive function (Utian, 1999), and playing a crucial role in the sexual tract. Thus, the ovarian dysfunction during menopause explains several disturbances due to the reduction or the lack of estrogens. According to Karmakar et al. (2017), the hormonal deficit induces psychological and physiological perturbations affecting the health of menopausal women. This could be attributed to redox status imbalance.
