“…In literature, flavonoids and other phenolic compounds were found to activate GABA A receptors, through a mechanism similar to benzodiazepines that exert their anticonvulsant and sedative effects indirectly via enhancing the effect of GABA at GABA A receptor (Jahani et al, 2019). In addition, kaempferol elevated GABA and reduced glutamic acid levels in the mouse hypothalamus (Liu et al, 2022).…”

“…In addition the presence of ferulic acid (476.59 μg/g) was detected in only TP extract that had a sedative–hypnotic activity that could be mediated via the serotonergic system (Tu et al, 2012). Moreover, the effect of kaempferol on sleep induction was associated with GABA A ‐ benzodiazepine receptor‐Cl − channel complex, suggesting its ability to initiate intracellular Cl– channel opening of GABA A receptors (Liu et al, 2022).…”

“…Kambe et al [ 40 ] found that quercetin at a dose of 200 mg/kg significantly elevated NREMS in rats. Kaempferol also potentiated sleep-promoting effects in the pentobarbital-induced sleep test [ 41 ]. In view of these results, GT may be a better alternative for mild arousal-inducing effects than consumption of caffeine alone.…”

“…Preparations from the plant leaves benefit nursing mothers and malnourished infants and improve the general health of the population. The leaves have been useful for patients suffering from insomnia [35] and treating wounds [36]. Moringa is used incredibly extensively in the cosmetic industry nowadays, and in ancient Egyptian history, it was similarly used for preparing dermal ointments [37].…”

“…Previous results have proved that leaves extract reestablishes levels of monoamine in the brain and is very helpful in Alzheimer's disease, while the in vitro activity of the ethanolic extract of the leaves showed an anticonvulsant effect on dopamine and norepinephrine levels, locomotor activity, and serotonin (5HT) in the brain in penicillininduced convulsions [98,99]. The methanolic root extract in mice induced by pentobarbital sodium and diazepam has remarkable sedative effects on the CNS by improving sleep duration [35]. The toluene acetate fraction of the methanolic extract proved its potency as a possible nootropic agent [97].…”
