In situX-ray beam imaging using an off-axis magnifying coded aperture camera system

Abstract: This paper presents an imaging model and a reconstruction algorithm for obtaining X-ray beam cross-sectional images from the data recorded by an X-ray beam monitor based on a coded aperture camera that collects radiation scattered from a thin foil placed in the X-ray beam at an oblique angle.

“…[103] Due to these characteristics, X-ray is widely used in security check, military, scientific research, medicine and other fields. [104][105][106][107] Traditional X-ray detection materials are not sensitive enough for lowdose detection and the imaging quality is not high enough, which seriously limits the development of high-quality X-ray imaging.…”

“…However, the measured beam position is determined by both the source position and angle. A single PBPM does not provide independent information about the photon beam source position and angle (Tucoulou et al, 2008;Kachatkou et al, 2013). The photon beam angle also needs to be monitored to account for the negative effects of beam angle instability (Tucoulou et al, 2008;Hahn et al, 1998;Kyele et al, 2007;Morse et al, 2010).…”
