Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are becoming a major cause of death worldwide. Understanding the risk factors for CVD could provide important perception towards the etiology, course, prevention, and treatment for this key health problem. Aim of the survey was to create awareness on the cardiovascular risk factors among young adults. A self-administrated questionnaire was prepared and circulated via an online platform. The data were and the results represented as a bar graph. The data were with SPSS software (SPSS). In this survey, about 52% of the young adults were aware of cardiovascular risk factors, about 57.4% of subjects agreed that smoking is a risk factor of cardiovascular disease, but 42% were not aware of it. 65.3% are aware that elevated blood pressure is also a risk factor for CVD. 56.4% knew that obesity increases a person's risk of cardiovascular disease, but 44% did not agree with that. The survey concluded that there was moderate awareness among young adults about the risk factors of cardiovascular disease, and hence more health awareness should be created for common cardiovascular diseases.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder, which affects many people throughout the world. The inefficacy and multiple side effects of most synthetic anti-diabetic drugs are reported by various studies. Thus, many researchers are focused on the use of medicinal plants as safe and potent anti-hyperglycemic drugs. The aim of this study is the evaluation of the effect of Afghan senjed (Elaeagnus Angustifolia L.) leaves aqueous alcoholic extract on blood glucose level of diabetic rats. Methods: Rats were divided into 6 groups: normal, diabetic, metformin and Elaeagnus Angustifolia leaves extract (EALE) groups, which received 200, 400 and 800 mg/kg doses of extract for 15 days. Diabetes was induced by single dose intraperitoneal administration of streptozotocin (STZ). During treatment, the effect of single and repeated oral administration of EALE on blood glucose level of diabetic rats was evaluated. On last day, the effect of EALE on oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was also assessed. Results: All doses of EALE showed significant reduction in blood glucose level, an improvement of glucose tolerance and enhancement in body weight. Conclusion: EALE possessed an antihyperglycemic property in diabetic rats.

Engineered cell-based therapeutics is having a great commitment in the field of treatment of human diseases. Scientific studies revealed that cell-based therapeutics play a key role in the treatment of cancers which can be an alternative for traditional immunotherapy. Even though there have been promising results, and the potential side effects resulting in mortality forced the scientists to impart regulations in the current therapies. These are evident in the growing frame of the literature of synthetic biology. Synthetic Biology empowered these new approaches to several applications in the medical field, including the development of bioengineered cell-based immunotherapies, peculiarly T-cell engineering with tumour-targeting receptors and the Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-T cells. The specific applications of this bioengineering of cells include direct injection of cells, merging the cells with a biomaterial scaffold in an in vitro or situ condition, or the biomaterial scaffold implantation alone which can induce surrounding cells leading to tissue restoration. Hence the aim of this review article is to highlight the various aspects of engineered cell-based therapeutics.
