Bacillus Probiotics: Spore Germination in the Gastrointestinal Tract

Abstract: Spores of Bacillus species are being used commercially as probiotics and competitive exclusion agents. Unlike the more commonly used Lactobacillus-type probiotics, spores are dormant life forms.
