4q27 as a psoriasis susceptibility locus in the Northeastern Chinese Han population

Abstract: Psoriasis is an autoimmune inflammatory skin disease with genetic components. Chromosome 4q27 is related to many autoimmune diseases, however, the relationship between psoriasis and 4q27 has not been fully established yet. The objective of this study is to investigate the association between chromosome 4q27 and psoriasis in the Northeastern Chinese Han population. Four common single nucleotide polymorphisms (rs2069762, rs4833837, rs6840978, and rs7684187) from chromosome 4q27 were genotyped in 400 psoriasis ca… Show more

“…In this case, IL-2 may further negatively affect the T lymphocyte mediated immune response, contributing to the occurrence of acquired aplastic anemia. Moreover, it was also discovered that rs2069762 T to G substitution was associated with the development of other autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis (MS) in Spainish population [15] and psoriasis in the Northeastern Chinese Han population [31]. Consistently, data in table 4 showed a decreased risk in adults (>16 years old) with GT and GT/GG genotypes.…”

“…Furthermore, some genetic variations in the IL-21 gene were associated with susceptibility to SLE (16). Zhou,et al and Zhang,et al found associations of certain haplotypes containing rs4833837 with psoriasis and Hashimoto's thyroiditis (17,18). However, neither of the rs4833837 alleles was signi cantly associated with higher serum levels of IL-21 (17,18).…”

“…Also, Zhou et al . [ 40 ] showed that IL-2 (–330) GG and TG genotypes increased the risk in Ps patients who belonged to the northern Chinese Han population. Our results exhibit that GG and TT genotypes of IL-2 (–330) are significantly increased in patients with Ps compared with the control group ( Table 3 ).…”
