Electrical stimulation in the amygdala affects the firing pattern of many hypothalamic neurons (Sawa et al, 1959;Wendt & Adey, 1959Tsubokawa & Sutin, 1963;Stuart et al, 1964;Egger, 1965;Dreifuss et a/., 1966).
