Hydrosoluble Graphene/Polyvinyl Alcohol Membranous Composites with Negative Permittivity Behavior

Abstract: In this work, a hydrosoluble matrix is used for the first time to prepare flexible membranous composites, in order to improve their environmental friendliness and simplify the processing. Modified graphene (GR) sheets are distributed in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution to achieve flexible GR/PVA metacomposites. As graphene content increases, an interconnected graphene network is eventually formed among the PVA matrix, and the resulting composites present a conductor‐like behavior. Interestingly, the Drude‐like… Show more

“…Zhu et al [136] introduced cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and graphene oxide (GO) [137] into poly(viny akohol) (PVA), poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and poly(acrylamide) (PAM) triple network ionogel. The combination of the dynamic hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds and the sacrificial network of covalently bonded graphene CNCs gives ionogel remarkable mechanical strength with a maximum tensile strength of 15.9 MPa and…”

“…Sun et al [30,31] used graphene as a conductive filler to study the negative permittivity behavior of hydrosoluble Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). As graphene sheet is an excellent conductive material, modified graphene sheets were mixed with PVA by sonication to form a uniformly dispersed solution.…”

“…This method can also be used in preparation of composites with negative electromagnetic parameters, which has potential application in electronic device. 58,59 The screw diameter (D) of the extruder was 25 mm and the length-diameter ratio (L/D) was 40. Pure PLA was also processed as a control sample following the same process for the normalized evaluation.…”
