Hydroponic Technology in Agriculture Industry

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe hydroponic vegetable products and analyze the marketing communication strategies of hydroponic vegetables using the marketing mix method. The result of this research showed that hydroponic technology was a method of farming using water media without soil media. This is done because the function of the soil as a supporter of plant roots and an intermediate nutrient solution can be replaced by streamlining or adding nutrients, water and oxygen through the media. With this… Show more

“…Their analysis reveals a promising financial outlook, with a payback period of one year, four months, and one day, a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 126,869,865, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 49%, and a profitability index of 3.504%. Additionally, investigations by Prayoga & Putra (2020) elucidate the essence of hydroponic technology as a soil-less farming method, relying on water-based media. By bypassing traditional soil-based systems, hydroponics streamlines nutrient delivery, water supply, and oxygenation, thereby optimizing plant growth and productivity.…”

“…In addition, plant roots do not rot easily in the NFT hydroponic because the roots are not entirely submerged. The nutrient layer in the NFT system is conditioned in a maximum height of 3 mm solution so that the water (nutrition) and oxygen are available at appropriate levels [4]. However, The NFT method is weak regarding the large amount of electrical energy required because the pump must run all day during the growing period.…”
