This paper introduces the SmartDisability Framework to consider mappings between disability type, Range of Movement and interaction mediums to produce technology and task recommendations to enhance user interaction. The SmartDisability conceptual model (based on the familiar disability symbol) and extracts from the initial development stage of the Framework are presented. The Framework has been populated through the knowledge obtained from state of the art literature reviews of disability classification, Range of Movement, interaction mediums, 'off-the-shelf' technologies and tasks. The Framework was augmented by requirements elicitation results and a described usability evaluation involving a simulation of the SmartATRS smartphone system to control the Automated Transport and Retrieval System (ATRS). ATRS is a technically-advanced system that enables a powered wheelchair (powerchair) to autonomously dock onto a platform lift of a vehicle using an automated tailgate and a motorised driver's seat. The usability of touch and head-based interaction methods were measured using System Usability Scale (SUS) and NASA Task Load Index (NASA TLX) and demonstrated that fingers were more usable interaction method, as head tracking required a full range of neck movement. This SmartDisability Framework is anticipated to be validated through focus groups utilising fictional personas that involve experts from the domains of healthcare, computing and occupational therapy. The framework will be routed to exploitation through the development of a smartphone or web-based application.

StreszczenieWstęp: Choroba nowotworowa spełnia kryteria sytuacji kryzysowej. W okresie dorastania stanowi czynnik ryzyka dezorganizacji zachowania i pojawienia się nieprawidłowości w funkcjonowaniu, gdyż może przekraczać wydolność podmiotowych mechanizmów przystosowawczych jednostki. Istotne jest zidentyfikowanie zasobów, które mogą mieć ochronne znaczenie dla funkcjonowania i rozwoju młodzieży w sytuacji choroby nowotworowej, a szczególnie strategii radzenia sobie oraz prężności w dostosowywaniu się. Celem badań było ustalenie, czy istnieje związek między zasobami osobistymi młodzieży z chorobami nowotworowymi, czyli prężnością i wykorzystaniem strategii radzenia sobie ze stresem, a wybranymi aspektami jej psychologicznego funkcjonowania przy pośredniczącym wpływie wieku, płci i czasu trwania choroby. Materiał i metody: W badaniach wzięło udział 60 adolescentów -30 osób leczonych onkologicznie i 30 osób zdrowych, w tym po 15 dziewcząt i 15 chłopców w wieku od 12 do 17 lat w obu grupach (M = 13,43 roku, SD = 1,88). Badania przeprowadzono przy użyciu Skali Pomiaru Prężności (SPP-18), Kwestionariusza "Jak Sobie Radzisz?" (JSR) oraz Testu Rysunku Rodziny L. Cormana. Wyniki i wnioski: Młodzież leczona onkologicznie ma mniejsze poczucie humoru i mniejszą otwartość na nowe doświadczenia, a większe kompetencje osobiste i tolerancję negatywnego afektu, które stanowią podwymiary konstruktu prężności. Młodzież chora bardziej intensywnie korzysta ze wszystkich strategii radzenia sobie w porównaniu z młodzieżą zdrową, ale jest też istotnie bardziej skłonna do stosowania mechanizmu regresji. Prężność jest słabo powiązana ze specyfiką psychologicznego funkcjonowania młodzieży z chorobami nowotworowymi, natomiast wykorzystanie strategii radzenia sobie ma duże znaczenie. Choroba nowotworowa stanowi źródło znacznych obciążeń młodego człowieka, ale służy kształceniu kompetencji zaradczych. Abstract

Background: The perception that water treatment and supply systems are not safe against accident and human errors as well as disease outbreaks is growing. Many major events around the world have been attributed to human error. In general, human errors are defined as situations where planned series of mental or physical activities fail to achieve its desired result. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed to predict human error in the Khorramabad water treatment plant. Human error in the telemetry control room as well as relevant units was assessed with standard charts, tables, and reference work sheets. At first, all different activities of the unit were considered after interviewing the workers as well as consulting with supervisors and also by hierarchical task analysis HTA. Then the SHERPA method was applied to identify potential human errors. Results: Seventy-nine human errors were identified in various job tasks. Results showed that 51.8% of them are action errors, 38.4% are checking errors, 7.59% are retrieval errors, 0.006% is communication errors, and 0% for selection errors. Conclusions: It can therefore be concluded that the most prevalent errors are checking and action errors. Thus, it is suggested that work instructions, staff training, and employing inspection operators to monitor the performances should be considered as a priority. Furthermore, it can be concluded that SHERPA is appropriate for many industries such as water treatment plants.
