Este artículo es una propuesta de Plan de Internacionalización de una pequeña finca ubicada en el cantón Sucúa, provincia de Morona Santiago, Ecuador, la cual empezó a cultivar pitahaya hace cinco años, el artículo se enfoca en que la finca “Sucúa Fruit” junto a la unión de otras empresas cercanas al sector, puedan internacionalizarse de modo que puedan exportar pitahaya. Para ello, se ha diseñado un Plan de Internacionalización en el que se indica paso a paso las estrategias y procesos logísticos y operativos que se deben realizar y también, un estudio de mercado en el que se puede visualizar el país más rentable para que se pueda llevar a cabo el proyecto y con el tiempo, la empresa sea conocida, incrementen las ventas y se pueda internacionalizar con éxito.

This paper seeks to understand the role of the military in a democratic state. It focuses on how the military performs under the civilian leadership put in place through a duly elected process in Malawi. Evidence has shown that some civilian leadership have gone overboard to influence the military to act contrary to the constitutional mandate. This paper examines the role played by the Malawi Defense Force in upholding the constitution. Data was collected using an interview guide with key informants and archival research. Data was analysed using content analysis. The results suggest that on a number of occasions between 1994 and 2019 there have been occasions also referred to as ‘critical junctures’ where the civilian leadership attempted to influence the military to go outside its constitutional mandate and act in the interest of civilians in power. Key notable events include the death of the Head of State in 2014 and during the 2014 elections where the incumbent president ordered the closure of the Tally Centre arguing ‘immense irregularity’. The paper concluded that for the continued professional work of the MDF operated within the dictates of the law that guides their operations.

Creating Emordle: Animating Word Cloud for Emotion Expression

We propose emordle, a conceptual design that animates wordles (compact word clouds) to deliver their emotional context to audiences. To inform the design, we first reviewed online examples of animated texts and animated wordles, and summarized strategies for injecting emotion into the animations. We introduced a composite approach that extends an existing animation scheme for one word to multiple words in a wordle with two global factors: the randomness of text animation (entropy) and the animation speed (speed). To create an emordle, general users can choose one predefined animated scheme that matches the intended emotion class and fine-tune the emotion intensity with the two parameters. We designed proof-of-concept emordle examples for four basic emotion classes, namely happiness, sadness, anger, and fear. We conducted two controlled crowdsourcing studies to evaluate our approach. The first study confirmed that people generally agreed on the conveyed emotions from well-crafted animations, and the second one demonstrated that our identified factors helped fine-tune the extent of the emotion delivered. We also invited general users to create their own emordles based on our proposed framework. Through this user study, we confirmed the effectiveness of the approach. We concluded with implications for future research opportunities of supporting emotion expression in visualizations.
