HPLC Method Validation for the Estimation of Lignocaine HCl, Ketoprofen and Hydrocortisone: Greenness Analysis Using AGREE Score

Abstract: In the current study, the reversed-phased high-pressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method was proposed for the estimation of lignocaine hydrochloride (LIG), hydrocortisone (HYD) and Ketoprofen (KET) according to International Conference for Harmonization (ICH) Q2 R1 guidelines, in a gel formulation. The chromatographic evaluation was executed using Shimadzu RP-HPLC, equipped with a C8 column and detected using UV at 254 nm wavelength, using acetonitrile and buffer (50:50) as a mobile phase and diluent, at… Show more

“…The 'a' represents the distance of the peak of the drug from the frontal half-side to the mid-point of the peak and is evaluated at 5% altitude. Similarly, 'b' refers to the length from the center of the peak to the trailing side of the peak (estimated at 5% peak height) [35].…”

“…Previous literature reports have described the quantication of both drugs for various purposes. Methods for quantifying LD were developed in conjunction with preservatives 18 and other drugs, serving as antiseptics, 19 antiparasitic, 20 antifungal, 20 anti-inammatory, 21 analgesic, 22 mucolytic, 23 antiviral 24,25 and corticosteroids. 21 Additionally, other validated methods exist for determining the drug in polymeric matrices, [26][27][28] plasma, 29,30 and in new topical dosage forms.…”

“…Various methods such as titrimetry, spectrophotometry, and spectrofluorimetry have been reported for the determination of these drugs [12][13][14][15]. Analysis based on capillary zone electrophoresis, HPLC, and GC-MS methods [16][17][18][19][20] are also available. However, recently the use of electrochemical techniques has been proposed, such as voltammetry, where boron-doped diamond electrodes have been used to study and evaluate the different ibuprofen redox processes [21,22].…”
