This study aims to develop a video-assisted picture storybook to improve the understanding of mathematics concepts for fourth-grade elementary school students. The type of research conducted is research and development (R&D). Data collection techniques are used in the form of tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data sources or subjects in this study were 76 fourth grade students of Primary School Number Gugus Yos Sudarso, Pulokulon District, Grobogan Regency consisting of 25 fourth grade students of Public Primary School Number 1 Pulokulon as the control class, and 24 fourth grade students of Public Primary School Number 2 Pulokulon, and 27 class students. Public Primary School Number 3 Pulokulon IV as the experimental class. The types of data obtained are quantitative and qualitative data. The data analysis used is descriptive quantitative. The results of this study are video-assisted picture storybooks according to the needs of teachers and students in questionnaire recapitulation that the level of need for video-assisted picture storybooks is high with a student answer score of 84.67%, and a teacher's response of 86.67%. The developed book was tested for feasibility with the results of expert validation being in the appropriate category with details of the average score of linguists of 3.07, material experts of 2.94, and media experts of 3.17. The results of the effectiveness test were tested by an independent t-test in the experimental class and the control class showed a significance of <0.05, i.e. 0.000, thus Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected, meaning that there were differences in understanding the concept of fractions between students who took part in learning using picture storybooks. video-assisted and students who are not. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that video-assisted picture books were effectively used to improve the understanding of fractions concepts for fourth-grade elementary school students.

This study aims to test the feasibility, attractiveness, and effectiveness of learning media in the form of STEM-based digital pocket books assisted by Appypie on students’ creative thinking skills on triangle material. Research and development (R&D) in this study uses the ADDIE model with 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Data collection instruments in this study include student needs questionnaires, interview sheets, expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and tests. The data analysis techniques used are expert validation data analysis, and student response data analysis. Based on the results of the validation test, an average score of 3.63 from material experts and 3.70 from media experts was obtained (feasible to use). The attractiveness response that has been carried out in small and large class tests obtained an average score of 3.57 (very interesting) and 3.80 (very interesting), respectively. The effectiveness test on the use of learning media developed in this study could not be carried out due to the constraints of the Covid-19 pandemic, so this research was limited to the development stage. This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) through meta-analysis. Data is collected by research documentation generated from various sources collected through the Internet. These articles were published from 2019 to 2022. The themes discussed the effect of PBL to HOTS on students' skill abilities, analysed quantitatively, described data in sample sizes, standard deviations, and averages, and published in journals and indexed on Google Scholar. The analysis design used a contrast group with a random effects model that corrected for effect sizes. The analysis used JASP software to calculate mean aggregate differences, plot forest plots, and publication bias. The study results show a significant difference between groups using control and experimental in the learning process (SE = 1.00); students who use PBL in learning have better learning outcomes than those who do use conventional. Based on the analysis results, the urgency of implementing PBL is evident in supporting the problem-based learning process with HOTS skills.
