“…Our study provides valuable insights into this line of research by examining the relationship between fear of COVID-19, intolerance for uncertainty, and cyberloafing, and also contributes to the limited number of studies on cyberloafing during the pandemic (e.g. Bendau et al, 2021 , Khawaja et al, 2021 , Turel and Ferguson, 2020 , Zhong et al, 2022 ). Cyberloafing may act as a coping strategy that distracts employees from the demands of stressful events during the pandemic ( Khawaja et al, 2021 ). The literature suggests that the fear of being infected with COVID-19 may amplify problematic gaming, social media, and smartphone use as coping strategies for self-regulation among students ( Chavan et al, 2021 , Lin et al, 2020 ).…”

“…To further identify the predictive effects of the indicators for emotional complexity, we performed Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis ( Hopwood and Donnellan, 2010 ; Khalil et al, 2021 ; Khawaja et al, 2021 ). A four-factor model reflected a good model fit, with 𝜒 2 /df = 0.33, CFI = 1.00, TLI = 1.03, RMSEA = 0.000 (0.00, 0.20), SRMR = 0.003.…”
