ÖZAmaç: Yoğun bakım ortamına ilişkin hastaların görüşlerinin alınması iyileştirici yoğun bakım ortamı sağlanmasına temel oluşturur. Araştırma toraks cerrahi yoğun bakım ünitesinde yatan hastaların yoğun bakım ortamı ile ilgili görüşlerinin incelenmesi amacı ile yapılmıştır. Çalışma Planı: Araştırma bir üniversite hastanesinin toraks cerrahi yoğun bakım ünitesinde 100 hasta ile tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Yoğun bakım ünitesinde en az 24 saat yatan, postoperatif dönemde iki ya da dört saat içinde ekstübe olan, soruları anlayabilecek ve yanıtlandırabilecek durumda olan hastalar örneklem grubuna dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada hastaların yoğun bakım ortamına ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacı ile "Yoğun Bakım Ortamına İlişkin Hasta Görüşleri Belirleme Formu" kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hastaların yaş ortalaması 49±16'dır. Hastaların yoğun bakımda kalış gün sayısı ortalama 3 gündür. Hastaların çoğunluğu yoğun bakım ünitesinde aydınlatma düzeyinin ve ortam sıcaklığının normal olduğunu (%88) ve ses düzeyinin rahatsız edici olmadığını (%86) belirtmişlerdir. Hastaların tamamına yakını (%96) ailesini merak ettiğini, %66'sı aile üyelerinin sürekli yanında kalmasını istediklerini belirtmişlerdir. Hastaların çoğu hemşireye (%97) ve hekime (%75) sorunlarını rahatlıkla söyleyebildiklerini ve %96'sı yoğun bakımda mahremiyetine saygı gösterildiğini belirtmiştir. Sonuç: Araştırma sonuçları hastaların yoğun bakım ortamı ile ilgili olumlu görüşlere sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. The study was conducted for the purpose of examining the opinions of patients hospitalized in intensive care unit of chest surgery regarding intensive care environment. Study Plan: This descriptive study was conducted with 100 patients in the surgical intensive care unit of chest surgery of a university hospital. Materials and Methods:The patients who were hospitalized in the intensive care unit for at least 24 hours, extubated within two or four hours during the postoperative period, and could understand and answer the questions were included in the sample group. In the study, the "Determining the Opinions of Patients Regarding Intensive Care Environment Form" was used for determining the opinions of the patients regarding intensive care environment.Results: Mean age of the patients who participated in the study was 49±16 years. They were hospitalized in the intensive care unit for three days, on average. Majority of the patients stated that illumination level and ambient temperature in the intensive care unit were normal (88%) and the voice level was not disturbing (86%). Art therapy has attracted attention in the medical field. Among them, authors have been engaged in various activities including art in hospitals. We have started the artworks using masking tape, which has various colors and the pattern. It can be also used for craft making, wrapping, decoration, and original goods such as art exhibitions. Our current work was performed on the corridor and staircase walls of Tokushima University hospital. It has psychologically three important perspectives, which are i) healing: relieving anxiety, healing the mind, ii) comfort: creating a pleasant and comfortable image, iii) wayfinding system: the wall sign can give a walk direction guide without confusion such as pilgrim walking. We plan to develop the performance in various opportunities.

Window and view significantly influence the visual comfort in the workspace. It is important to ensure an effective working environment as the employees normally spend one third of their daily life in the working space. Lacking of windows with appropriate view in the Malaysia offices, especially the intermediate shop offices lead to the problem of windowless working environment. It is essential to have natural view through window for contributing the visual comfort. Objective of this study is to identify the important of visual comfort and the preferences of employees on surrogate window and view in windowless office. The inexistence of real view through window may require surrogate view as replacement. This study proposed surrogate window and view as an immediate solution to improve the problem. A survey has been done in five selected case studies by using the online questionnaire that is more convenient and effective. The result reveals that the most preferred surrogate window and view is the window with sea view (mean=2.938, S.D=0.244); the least preferred voted by employees is surrogate window with riverine view (mean=0.088, S.D. = 0.284). In conclusion, this study proved that the preferred surrogate window and view among employees is the view to sea, gender and age do not affect the result in this study. Sea view should be applied in a windowless office as a surrogate window and view to improve the visual comfort in the working environment.
