Recent migrants as hosts assume the role of a local expert and guide in the VFR encounter, giving reason and justification to explore their new community, helping them learn the culture, establish connections, and develop a sense of pride (Dutt & Ninov, 2017; Humbracht, 2015; Janta & Christou, 2019; Shani & Uriely, 2012).
