“…French clinical research on homosexual parenthood referred to psychoanalysis was first inspired by the works of Corbett (1983) and Ehrensaft (2010). SummaryThis article examines a case of gay parenting analysed in the context of a collective, interdisciplinary research project funded by the French National Research Agency (Agence Nationale de la Recherche). Its authors use a clinical psychoanalytical approach, applying this methodology to the single case study of a lesbian couple and their son, who was eight and half years old at the time of the research project. The clinical data were gathered using several techniques: interviews with the parents and the completion of a family tree, a projective test, and a game with the child. The analysis, drawing on psychoanalytical conceptual frameworks, describes how belonging and difference are both constructed and transmitted along family lines. Data obtained relating to the mothers reveal how the relationship within the couple is articulated with Oedipal configurations, ancestral history and representations of the sperm donor that interact with intrapsychic conflicts and the differences they promote, including those along the lines of gender. Analysis of the data produced with the child suggest that he uses these situations to create a representation of his place within the successive generations in his family, his own gender identity and his fantasies spun out around the identity of the sperm donor.

“…O acesso à parentalidade supõe além da perda da posição de fi lho, a reativação da identifi cação destes com suas fi guras parentais. A permuta simbó-lica de lugares, como organizadora da transmissão/sucessão geracional não é entrave para os casais homossexuais, mas ocorre de forma similar (Ducousso-Lacaze & Grihom, 2010). A orientação sexual não é um obstáculo ao trabalho psíquico indispensável para a renúncia da posição de fi lho, entretanto, há um fator singular: esse processo de permuta ocorre de forma muito distinta, pois se por um lado o indivíduo precisa ser re-aceito como fi lho para poder pensar em deixar esse lugar de fi lho, com a chegada dos netos os pais muitas vezes fl exibilizam-se e aceitam (mesmo que com reservas e de forma prematura para seus psiquismos) a família homoparental.…”

ResumoDa família tradicional-patriarcal à família contemporânea, mudanças relevantes ocorreram, gerando uma pluralidade de modelos. O papel fundamental da família na constituição psíquica do indivíduo, frente ao crescente aparecimento de novos arranjos familiares, torna essencial construir conhecimento acerca das novas formas de se relacionar e vivenciar a parentalidade. Este trabalho objetiva apresentar os resultados de uma pesquisa que investigou as representações parentais de casais homossexuais masculinos, por meio das imagos parentais e legados geracionais. Com objetivo de compreender como se dão tais representações, bem como, suas possíveis ligações e/ou infl uências na relação do casal homoafetivo e, possivelmente, na família homoparental, foram entrevistados cinco casais homossexuais masculinos sem fi lhos e aplicado o Desenhos de Família com Estórias (DF-E) adaptado. O método utilizado foi o clínico-qualitativo e a análise feita com base no referencial psicanalítico vincular. Os resultados apontaram casais ainda muito ligados à suas famílias de origem; com questões confl itivas associadas ao processo de construção de suas identidades homossexuais; presos ao modelo de conjugalidade heteronormativa; cujos relacionamentos caracterizaram-se pela brevidade com que se tornaram compromissados, com a fi nalidade principal de apoio mútuo à assunção da identidade homossexual. Concluiu-se que o despreparo para deixar o lugar de fi lho é fator infl uente para não se pensar acerca da parentalidade; e está relacionado aos confl itos de cerne familiar, especialmente à falta de aceitação. Enfatizamos a necessidade de maior número de pesquisas na área, visando uma abordagem científi ca que propicie o estabelecimento de uma ética pautada no vínculo fi liativo. De nombreuses recherches ont été menées ces 35 dernières années auprès des familles homoparentales. Majoritairement de type quantitatif, ces études nous informent peu sur le fonctionnement dynamique et singulier de ces familles. Au travers d’une étude exploratoire et longitudinale, nous analysons le vécu particulier de familles homoparentales (deux femmes) qui ont eu recours à la procréation assistée avec don de sperme anonyme. Nous explorons dans notre recherche les sujets suivants : le rôle des mères auprès de l’enfant, la place du donneur anonyme dans le roman familial, le rapport de l’enfant à ses origines, le développement de l’identité sexuelle de l’enfant, l’intégration de ces familles dans une société hétéronormative. Grâce à nos rencontres régulières avec les enfants et les parents nous pouvons mettre en lumière les spécificités de leur fonctionnement familial. L’originalité de notre recherche se situe dans l’exploration du vécu intrapsychique et intersubjectif de ces enfants. Nous tentons de comprendre comment les enfants dont les parents sont de même sexe se construisent psychiquement. L’utilisation d’outils projectifs thématiques (Patte Noire, CAT, Dessin de famille) nous fournit des informations précieuses quant à leur développement psychosexuel. Ce matériel est à la source d’une double sollicitation, à la fois perceptive et projective, ce qui nous permet de relever des indices sur la manière dont l’enfant perçoit ses relations, se les représente et les symbolise. La description de cas cliniques illustrera nos propos.Many studies of same-sex families have been conducted over the past 35 years. Primarily quantitative in nature, these studies tell us little about the unique dynamic operating in such families. By way of an exploratory longitudinal study, we analyze the distinct experiences of same-sex families (two women) who used assisted reproduction with an anonymous sperm donor. Our study explores the following topics: the mothers’ role with the child, the place of the anonymous donor in the family narrative, the child’s relationship to his or her origins, the development of the child’s sexual identity, and the integration of these families into a heteronormative society. Through regular meetings with both children and parents, we were able to highlight specific aspects of how these families function. The originality of our research is in its exploration of the intrapsychic and intersubjective experiences of these children. We try to understand how children of same-sex parents build their psychic identity. The use of projective tests (Patte Noire [animal metaphor], CAT, family drawing) yielded precious data about their psychosexual development. These tests can be employed both projectively and perceptively and reveal clues about how children perceive, represent, and symbolize their relationships. We use case studies to illustrate our findings
