“…Although haemodialysis sessions are time-consuming and unpleasant, serial non-attendance is relatively rare as missing only a few consecutive sessions may endanger life.13 However, non-adherence to medication and fluid-diet restrictions is a concern in end stage renal disease (ESRD). 14 The recent development of valid and reliable methods for assessing patients' views about their illness15 and treatment11 facilitates further systematic study of treatment beliefs and adherence in haemodialysis recipients.
