This research article explores folklore-based virtual reality (VR) as a teaching medium in secondary schools, examining its effectiveness and impact on students' learning experiences. Taking advantage of virtual reality (VR) in education has several benefits, including enhancing students' learning experiences, facilitating more effective comprehension of concepts, and preparing students for the demands of an ever-evolving digital society. Drawing upon the multimodal discourse analysis framework, the study investigates how combining virtual reality technology and folklore narratives can enhance students' engagement, understanding, and retention of educational content. The findings highlight the potential of folklore-based VR as a powerful tool for immersive and interactive learning while shedding light on the multimodal aspects of the discourse generated through this medium. Educators can enhance the learning experience and foster a deeper understanding of cultural heritage and identity by integrating folklore-based virtual reality as a teaching medium. Moreover, Folklore-based virtual reality can encourage critical thinking skills as students navigate through complex narratives, make decisions, and solve problems within the virtual environment. Furthermore, exposure to diverse folklore stories and characters can promote empathy and understanding of different cultures, fostering a more inclusive and tolerant society. Integrating virtual reality (VR) technology into English education and literary resources presents promising prospects for students to actively interact with books through novel approaches, augmenting their understanding, language proficiency, and general admiration for literature. The research contributes to the growing field of educational technology by demonstrating the benefits of folklore-based VR as a pedagogical approach in secondary education.

The meta-frontier approach can mathematically understand the production dynamics. With the help of meta-frontier approach differences, the efficiency of income and earnings between companies with different structure can be estimated. Considering the great influence of independent directors on the economic market, this study estimated such effects from the perspective of production function models. It is found that the revenue efficiency results can be optimized without considering the technology heterogeneity for listed companies. When considering the common production boundary, there is an issue that the revenue efficiency of listed companies that own official independent directors is lower than other listed companies that without official independent directors, and the empirical results show that the withdrawal of official independent directors in the market has a positive impact on the profitability of the company.

Learning resources are everything that can be used to facilitate the learning process. Folklore is one of the cultural products that can be innovated as a biodiversity learning resource in high school. This study reviewed relevant literature regarding folklore from various regions of Indonesia to examine and analyse the potential of folklore as a learning resource for biodiversity. The descriptive analysis revealed that the contents of folklore can be used to study examples of the biodiversity level, the regional distribution of Indonesia’s biodiversity, flora and fauna characteristics of Oriental, Australian, and Transitional, benefits of biodiversity and its conservation efforts. In addition, folklore as a learning resource also has the potential to develop student competencies such as environmental care, creative thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving. However, the folklore content cannot describe all the material on biodiversity, therefore it must be combined with other learning resources for use in the biodiversity learning process.
