Sovereign debt disputes: A database on government coerciveness during debt crises

“…Much of the case insights in these important book publications are based on expert knowledge and detailed policy documents, thus complementing the newspaper sources with hands-on information. We also took into account a series of reports and papers by international financial institutions on the issue (Williams et al, 1983;Kincaid et al, 1985;Laursen and Fernandez-Ansola, 1995;Piñón-Farah, 1996;IMF, 2001IMF, , 2003IMF, , 2006ECB, 2005), as well as some country-related publications such as Buchheit and Karpinski (2007), IMF and World Bank Country Reports or IMF Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers. Further valuable sources were the comprehensive lists of debt restructurings by Stamm (1987) and the IIF (2001) and the list of major policy events in developing countries by Henry (1999).…”
