“…SPE is one of the most widely used sample preparation methods because of its advantages of low consumption organic solvent, high recovery, possibility of obtaining high enrichment factor, relatively high speed, safety, and ease of automation . Various sorbents have been used for preconcentration and determination of vanadium ions, such as Amberlite XAD‐7 resin , multiwalled carbon nanotubes , ion‐exchange (Dowex 1×8‐100) , DEAE‐Sephadex loaded with eriochrome cyanide R , Chelex 100 chelating resin , multiwalled carbon nanotubes functionalized with histidine , and some other solid substances.…”

“…[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] Oxidation thus by incorporating of carboxylic or phenolic hydroxyl group on the surface of CNTs provides active sites for further chemical modications. Desired functionalities, e.g., amine, 18 thiol, 19 histidine, 20 tannic acid, 21 hydroquinone, 22 EDTA, 23 phosphinic acid, 24 starch, 25 polyacrylamide 26 etc., have been covalently introduced on to the surface of CNTs for selective and more sensitive separation of metal ions and organics.…”

“…Histidine functionalised MWCNTs has been used as a sorbents for V (V). [19] The MWCNTs modified with chitosan was packed inside a glass column and used for the removal of divalent Cu 2þ , Zn 2þ , Cd 2þ and Ni 2þ ions from aqueous solution. [20] MWCNTs modified with 8-hydroxyquinoline have been used for the removal of Cu 2þ , Pb 2þ , Cd 2þ and Zn 2þ from aqueous solutions.…”
